Hi guys,

I just finished editing a whole bunch of files - all that just to make a new theme. Just for fun.

I've created a new theme for your Google Chrome browser which uses visual elements from Opera. This is just the first version, so let me know how you like it or if you would like me to improve it in any way...

Installation Instructions: (For XP, but should be very similar for Vista)
1. Go to the Google Chrome Install Directory. To do this, you can right-click on your Google Chrome shortcut, go to properties and click on "Find Target".
2. You'll find a folder called 0.2.149.27 or 0.2.149.29 or more. This is the version number of Google Chrome. So go to the latest n.n.nnn.nn folder.
3. Here you'll see the Themes folder. Click and go in.
3. You'll find a file called default.dll, rename it to original_default.dll. This step is important! So you can always go back if you don't like the theme.
4. Extract the attached zip file into the Themes folder so that now you have a new default.dll file in the Themes folder. When you're doing this make sure ALL your Chrome windows are CLOSED.
5. Thats it. Bring up the Chrome browser and enjoy the new theme.

This is Version 1. I'll be improving it soon. Hope you like it!

This is awesome, I really like the look of Opera, but don't care for some of the quirks of the browser itself. The only critique I have is that the tab text color is hard to read, but from what I have read on other forums, I don't think anyone has figured out how to change that yet.

Hey ChrisWC, Thanks Yeah, need to dig a little more to figure out if that is possible and how. That is the reason the tabs are not true to the actual Opera theme, or we wouldn't be able to read anything, black on black

Yep, I understand completely . I have done some digging into the guts of gChrome myself and haven't had any success either. If I have a breakthrough, I'll be sure to pass it along. I look forward to updates of this theme.

After launching the latest version of Google Chrome, Google has to relaunch it within a short span of time after rectifying a number of security issues. This shows Googles desperation to promote its browser. What is your take on that?

I have the same problem. Cant update / save articles in the admin panel using chrome. I see someone has asked Google a question about resizing images in one of their forums but no answer as yet.

Shame because chrome is a nice browser and I now use it instead of FireFox, well except for Joomla admin stuff of course. Hope this is something they will fix soon.

Many problems seem not to work under google chrome... I dont know why, since java now works fine with GC. Should you need any more infos feel free to ask
